Desmopressin drops
Pharmacological properties:Desmopressin is a synthetic analogue of arginine-vasopressin (antidiuretic hormone), a natural hormone of the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland. Unlike vasopressin, with strong antidiuretic activity, desmopressin is characterized by a less pronounced effect on the smooth muscle tissue of blood vessels and internal organs, which is due to a structural change of the desmopressin molecule in contrast to natural vasopressin: deamination of 1-cysteine and replacement of 8-L-arginine with 8-D-arginine.
