Pharmacological properties:Analeptic of mixed action type (CNS stimulation, reflex excitation of respiratory and vascular driving center). The mechanism of action consists of two components: central and peripheral. Central action is related to action on the motor center of blood vessels of the medulla oblongata. Peripheral action is associated with the stimulation of chemoreceptors of the carotid sinus, which leads to an increase in the frequency and depth of breathing. It has no direct effect on the cardiovascular system.
Indications:Collapse; asphyxia; shock states; asphyxia of newborns; disruption of blood circulation during infectious diseases; Poisoned by sleeping pills, barbiturates and narcotic analgesics.
