Aleksander Golijashvili

Mr. Aleksander Golijashvili is an accomplished expert in the biopharmaceutical industry with a focus on Bacteriophage (phage) technology.

Experience

In the early 1980s, even as a young pharmacology student,  Alexander Golijashvili joined the bacteriophage institute and worked alongside fellow technologists and scientists to preserve and further develop the unique technological know-how of phage R&D and production.

This experience laid the foundation for his expertise in the phage field, which has made him a recognized authority in the industry. As the founder and CEO of BioChimPharm, he has over 40 years of experience in the field and has successfully led a team of over 60 people.

Through his contributions, Aleksander has played a significant role in advancing the use of phage technology in various applications, such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and food safety. His work has been recognized through numerous publications, including 13 papers in scientific journals related to phage technology.

In addition to his research, Mr. Golijashvili is one of the founders and a board member of the Georgian Biopharmaceutical Cluster and a board member at the Georgian Pharmaceutical Association, using his expertise to contribute to the development of these organizations and the biopharmaceutical industry in Georgia. With his extensive experience and knowledge, Aleksander Golijashvili is widely regarded as a leading figure in the phage field, and his contributions have helped shape and define its future.
